St. Therese, the "Little Flower", promised to send roses from Heaven after she died. She is a Doctor of the Church and is known for providing cures and help not only with physical needs, but more importantly, spiritual needs as well.

Generations of Catholics have admired this young saint, called her the "Little Flower", and found in her short life more inspiration for own lives than in volumes by theologians. From her earliest days she told her father that she wanted to belong totally to God. She was granted special permission by the Pope to join the Carmelites at the age of 15.

Yet, Therese died when she was 24 after having lived as a cloistered Carmelite for less than ten years. She never went on missions, never founded a religious order, and never performed great works.

Therese of Lisieux is one of the patron saints of the missions, not because she ever went anywhere, but because of her special love of the missions, and the prayers and letters she gave in support of missionaries. This is reminder to all of us who feel we can do nothing, that it is the little things that keep God's kingdom growing. She is also the patroness of Aviators and those who suffer from tuberculosis.

This kit comes with a 216 Page paperback book, "The Story of a Soul." This is St. Therese's autobiography and all time best seller. This is the book that was instrumental in bringing down the "shower of roses", for favors from heaven, whic St Therese promised to send after her death.
